We have had the distinct honor and pleasure to work with one of the U.S.’s greatest physical therapy charitable organizations, Move Together Inc. We were able to collaborate with Move Together on their outreach projects in Villa Neuva and San Pedro Saquetepecaz, Guatemala. They have built pro bono clinics and staffed them with local physical therapists and physical therapy students to create a sustainable option for rehabilitation in communities that have not previously had access to such services. Our team joined them in their mission to grow these clinics and treat the local patients. We also had the opportunity to mentor U.S. and Guatemalan PTs and PT students during our time in Guatemala. We were asked to present some educational material to the local PTs and students to help them improve their practice as providers in those communities. We look forward to continuing our efforts with mentoring and education alongside Move Together in Guatemala.

Physiotherapists associated with Kenyatta Medical Training College (KMTC) have undergone advanced specialty training in orthopaedic physical therapy. They have built a community of leaders who are eager to share their knowledge with other colleagues in East Africa. In collaboration with the administrators at Karen Hospital, they have a dream of hosting an East African Physiotherapy Summit to provide continuing education to regional physiotherapists.
